I loved so many actresses that it was kind of hard to keep up with all of them. What I found was that I discovered some veteran ones and the ones I have always liked may have just gotten better. Here’s my list of top KDRAMA actresses in 2015.
NOTE: Post in progress.
Active since the mid 90s, Choi Ji Woo is one of the classic beauties in acting. She also happens to be naturally funny with her recent variety show appearances. Old fans will always remember Winter Sonata or Stairway to Heaven as they should, she’s made her name playing in those melodramas. Her most recent one Temptation was a total dud for me though. If anything, the reunion with her Stairway to Heaven co-star Kwon Sang Woo was just a lot of eye candy. Now with the surge of single mom type heroines, it was just a matter of time that Ji Woo’s chance would come and it did with Twenty Again. It is a lovely romantic comedy with a touch of drama that was kind, emotional and sometimes adorable. She paired well with Lee Sang Yoon, but I especially loved her moments with rookie actor Kim Min Jae as her son.

Park Min Young is really pretty, but more than that, she has a charm that I find infectious. I think for me, it all started with playing the girl (secretly) among the boys in Sungkyunkwan Scandal. Does this mean I eventually want her to do a drama with Song Joongki? HELLS YEAH. That’s another discussion, though. What I loved in this role was how she held her own surrounded by a lot of men. In fact, both her and Kim Mi Kyung are amazing in Healer. I can’t get over them. Another great thing about Min Young was the pairing with Ji Chang Wook. Not only did they look great together, but their characters had insane chemistry. I think the best relationships in dramas are where you don’t just falter and get back up again, you push and pull as well. And if you’re going to push and pull, Chang Wook is not that bad too look at while doing it. Min Young was lucky! Hell, Mi Kyung, too!
